The best early game strat is actually this. Find a village, find a fletcher (as many as possible), armoursmith, weapon smith. Get an iron axe from iron golem. Get like 10 stacks of logs, then craft it all into sticks. Trade sticks for emeralds from fletchers. Use emeralds to trade for full diamond enchanted from the armoursmith

In the early game, trading sticks, and coal, building an easy iron farm, and getting a full enchanted diamond is a smart decision.

First, you need to grind for XP, secondly durability third, 1.18 giant caves and to actually have a good chance for prot 2 you need to spend like 40min killing leather dropping mobs

Or, you set up some villagers to make the diamond armor for you and grab some sticks to trade them for emeralds (or dupe string if you don't have any moral issues with that xd)

You can also get maxed out diamond armor without even getting diamond in the first place. Armorer sells you diamond armor and librarian sells enchanted books. To enchant the armor, you need anvil which only uses iron

Tip: just get like 20 stacks of wood or more trade sticks to fletcher do trades with armourur villager til he’s max level then u can trade emeralds for diamond armour enchanted without going mining

1st problem. Full diamond is EASY to get if u find a decent cave. 2nd problem once u have full diamond u can put full prot 2 on that already. 3rd problem just get full diamond prot 4 its not that hard
