You dont need to use the word document. You can do it directly in PDF format. You create a new blank page.

I came to learn how to add a table of contents in Adobe Acrobat Pro (i.e. clickable contents in the sidebar, not a list of chapters within a page of MS Word)… _sigh_

Can you imagine doing this with a document with a Table Content for 266 pages?
ADOBE isn’t that “ PRO” after all.

Thank you for this....just so other folks know, No Reason you couldn't do it in Notepad or any text editor and then Print it to PDF. If you have the full version of Adobe then you have the PDF print engine.

I don't seem to be able to edit the link on a button... how can I change the link to a different page? The dialog to scroll and find a page to link only comes when I add a new button, not when I double-click a current button to edit it. thanks!

better option would be convert thew PDF file to word document and then create the table of content and save that wod file to PDF format.
