FOLLOW FALL OUT BOY

LYRICS

Model house life meltdown
Still a modern dream let down
It kills me you know I’m dying out here
What would you trade the pain for?
I’m not sure

We were a hammer to the Statue of David
We were a painting you could never frame and
You were the sunshine
Of my lifetime
What would you trade the pain for?

This city always hangs a little bit lonely on me
Loose
Like a kid playing pretend in his father’s suit
I’d never go, I just want to be invited
Oh
Got to give up
Get the feeling
Get the feeling
Don’t fight it
Fight it

Sending my love from the other side of the apocalypse
And I just about snapped
Don’t look back
Every lover’s got a little dagger in their hand
Love from the other side of the apocalypse
And I just about snapped
Don’t look back
Every lover’s got a little dagger in their hand

Generation sleep I’m falling in and out of love
I’m getting that tilted feeling out here
What would you trade the pain for?
I’m not sure

Nowhere left for us to go but heaven
Summer falling through our fingers again and
You were the sunshine
Of my lifetime
What would you trade the pain for?

They say we gotta get ahead yeah,
No matter what it takes
But there’s no way off the hamster wheel on this rat race
I’d never go, I just want to be invited
Oh
Got to give up
Get the feeling
Get the feeling
Don’t fight it
Fight it

Sending my love from the other side of the apocalypse
And I just about snapped
Don’t look back
Every lover’s got a little dagger in their hand
Love from the other side of the apocalypse
And I just about snapped
Don’t look back
Every lover’s got a little dagger in their hand

I saw you in a bright clear field
Hurricane heat in my head
The kind of pain you feel to get good in the end
Good in the end
Inscribed like stone and faded by the rain:
“Give up what you love
Give up what you love before it does you in…”

Sending my love from the other side of the apocalypse
And I just about snapped
Don’t look back
Every lover’s got a little dagger in their hand
Love from the other side of the apocalypse
And I just about snapped
Don’t look back
Every lover’s got a little dagger in their hand

I'm so surprised no one is talking about the incredible "classic" book titles they have on the shelf. "The Weezer of Oz", "Catch-182", "Good Charlotte's Web", "Crime and Punishment at the Disco"?? I mean those are just plain gold.

I love how clearly we can hear Patrick's voice and the instruments. That's really what I missed about the older music. And it doesn't sound like they're trying to just copy their old sound, but just trying something different from the past few years. I like it!

Any song that creates nostalgia despite being brand new is a work of genius

I absolutely love how FOB are finding creative ways to make sure Joe is included in the new videos rather than completely left out and forgotten about. I hope he recovers quickly and we can have him back ❤ x

This feels like an amalgamation of FOB's career. You have the thrashy power chords of early albums, the orchestration of the Folie a Deux era, mixed with the lyrical flow of their newer stuff. It's like their whole career has been building to this, and I'm here for it.

18 years listening to them. This gives me major Folie A Deux vibes and I love it.

The nostalgia is real.
The voice, the instruments, the raw feel of this song, just sent me crashing back to the 2000's; yet it doesn't feel like a rehash or just copying the old but something brand new using what they gained and learned this past few years.
Truly a new favorite I've looping on spotify.

Trying to say you guys are old, when your music is still this fresh? Yeah right, you guys are immortal, and I'll remember you guys for centuries

they really did find the perfect balance between now and then- still channeling nostalgia without sounding stale, but fresh

Two decades later and I’ve still never been letdown by these guys.

They came back with a banger, it sounds like their older albums but with a very fresh and clean production. Can't wait to hear it live, Patrick's voice just keeps getting better!

I'm gonna need the whole album to be this damn good. Really reminds me of what made me fall in love with Fall Out Boy back in 2007

I’m so happy. This feels like they’re back to what made them special in the first place and it sounds like they’re having fun again. They’ve finally embraced their status as emo legends are not shying away from it. It feels so nice to hear Joe going ham on an actual guitar riff for the first time in years. However if he doesn’t where that raccoon costume on stage during this tour I don’t want it.

You guys are all KINGS.
ALL I CAN SAY IS THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR GIVING MUSIC TO OUR FEELINGS OF FEAR, GRIEF, MELANCHOLY, JOY, AMD LITERALLY EVERYTHING.
YOUR MUSIC WILL TRANSCEND TIME.
And Patrick and Pete are one of those amazing writing duos that jist create history with a pen and a guitar.
Thank you all.
