as someone who only got into DMing a couple years ago with RED as my first game not only is it easy to get into Cyberpunk but I actually had a much harder time world building D&D than RED. Especially if you have 2077 or the Anime as a reference point you'll see some familiar faces since its only about 32 years prior

im a year into GMing a campaign and you def hit the nail on the head. Forcing power gamers into situation outside there skill set is funny as hell.

Thanks for the video man. I'm in the same boat as that dude. DnD 5E and WoD DM for years with my players. I'm taking my first crack at CPR in a couple months. Everyone is vaguely familiar with the universe thanks to the game and anime, but that's it.

Been looking at your campaign and world settings video and it was a great help to keep the stakes personnal and local as much as possible. Dnd is more about "grandiose" while CPR is more "visceral" as far as I understand it for now.

I love the change of tone this should bring and hope my players will as well. Just need to make it easy and palatable for them in the first sessions in a new system. New rules tend to drag on the action, so I want our first sessions to be quick and easy. Was thinking of taking the Netrunner on a quick solo adventure before session 1 so we can both get used to Netrunning rules. I'd use that to get her plot hook in as well.

If anyone has insights on how to make the first games easy and fun for new players, that would help as well!

JJtW convinced me to take the plunge and run as a DM 2 years ago and it was one of the best decisions i've made. Now if only i could get someone to run the game for ME, so i don't have to GM all the time! 😆
