Tire, wheel theft plagues Bay Area communities

A rash of tire and wheel thefts in parts of the Bay Area have police sounding the alarm. Dozens of cars have been hit over the past week in Contra Costa and Sonoma counties, leaving drivers outraged and stranded. Jodi Hernandez reports.

It’s no wonder that our car insurance rates skyrocketed.

This happened to my son’s brand new Civic Sport two years ago. He glanced out of his apartment in Los Angeles and saw his car on blocks, all 4 tires gone. Brand new car, by the time his car was repaired, the bill was 12k.

We, law abiding citizens are paying dearly for these crimes. My car insurance (clean record) has doubled in the last couple of years.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I am fed up with the crime in California, and I would join the mass exodus from California, but my husband’s work is here.

This once was a great place to live, beautiful, and people were laid back, too bad times have changed.

Well, I wish health, safety and much joy to my fellow Californians. Stay safe, be vigilant. Trust your instincts.
