There are thousands of vacant positions in Germany and Switzerland at the moment for medical professionals. This may not last for long. So once you decide on this pathway, you have to act fast and move quickly- or someone else will have taken your position.

14 years ago, I remember sitting in my tiny room in India, completely broke dreaming of a life in Switzerland. Now all these years later, I am living my dream life in Switzerland after living 12 wonderful years in Germany (a country I miss very much). You can too- if you follow exactly what I tell you. I had nobody to guide me. Luckily you have me, somebody who has negotiated this pathway and has helped hundreds of medical professionals achieve their dreams.

About Me:
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Dr Ganz. I am a senior consultant radiologist as well as a consultant surgeon, working in Switzerland since 3 years. I worked in Germany 11 years as an interventional radiologist and an abdominal surgeon having done stints in urology, plastic surgery and vascular surgery.

Unlike most other YouTubers or so called agents, I have real world experience in the German speaking world(especially Germany and Switzerland ) and in the medical system in particular, as I have worked in 12 of the 16 states of Germany as well as in Switzerland and know the day to day life as well as the ins and outs of the German medical system. I also love German culture, history and society and Iam well read and well-versed in these topics as well.

Since anyone can claim anything on YouTube these days, here’s a summary of my experience:

2000-2006: Medical Under-graduation in India.
2006-2010: Post-Graduate training in General surgery
2010-2011: Assistant Professor of surgery in India.
2011: learnt German and moved to Germany
2011-2014: training in abdominal surgery, liver transplant, vascular surgery, plastic surgery and urology.
2014: Consultant surgeon in Germany
2014-2019: Residency training in diagnostic and interventional radiology in Germany
2019-2021: Consultant diagnostic and interventional radiologist in southern Germany.
2021: Moved to Switzerland as a consultant Radiologist.
2021-2024: Consultant diagnostic and interventional radiologist in central Switzerland.
2024: Promoted to Senior consultant (Leitender Arzt) in Switzerland.

To all those starting this Journey, I say this: If someone like me and thousands like me could do it, so can you. Just follow what I say and do exactly as I say and you will have a wonderful, dream life in a wonderful society to pursue your dreams and passions or to raise a beautiful family. I thank my younger self every single day for having the fortitude to stick with the pathway with nobody guiding me. Luckily you have ME! ;)

The more difficult the path, more satisfying the result. Never quit and keep at it. Don’t listen to naysayers or people discouraging you.

Don’t give up on your dreams!

Dr Ganz

Hi. Thanks for sharing this information. I looked into the assisted geriatric living job using Au-Pair, but they have age restrictions. Do you perhaps know of any other routes to take to do the assisted geriatric living job?

I’m a 4th year (out of 6) med student in Belarus. I would like to move abroad, and thinking about Germany/Poland or the USA, what would you recommend me to do now, so as not to waste time: learn German or prepare to USMLE Step 1.
