Necromancy is one of the coolest schools of magic!

Those good times when I was playing a guy who worked as a gravedigger and learned necromancy just to make corpses dig their own graves

Had a Necromancer as a roommate once, I can look past the smell of rotting corpses and he was pretty cool, offered me a place in his world once he took it over

My man got nerfed in 5e, is there any homebrew that makes necromancer more powerful or at least make the raised Undead permanent?

Once i made my players go on a quest to kill a local necromancer. Sounded simple enough but i left breadcrumbs here and there, hoping they would smell that something was off about the employers. Thankfully they did the quest properly(as much as they could that is) and interrogated her when she was defeated. Turns out she was a benevolent mage, that only used necromancy to give families closure with their loved ones, and the local jarl(the partys employer) wanted her dead because she was the only one able to uncover the secret of his murdering his wife to gain control of the hold. Lessons learned: 1, necromancy isn't always evil 2, don't kill everything asap, 3 Zone of Truth is a great spell.

Say you are a necromancer and you live in a constant state where you are half dead and half alive. Since you are always experiencing both life and death, would that enhance your power even more or is it just for looks?

In earlier editions necromancers were the only ones who create crawling claws (thing from the addams family) to be kinda like a familiar

Day 55: we got a series about dragons, the 9 hells, and even the schools of magic; how about elves, (High Elves, Wood Elves, Drow, Sea Elves, Shadar-kai, Eladrin, Half Elves [including variants hopefully?], Dusk Elves, Avariel, etc.).
