Hikaru has to go through an ANTI-CHEATING measure before the game. The player looked very annoyed with this before the round 4 of FIDE Candidates 2022.

People say that Hikaru is getting mad for no reason but tbe thing is, they’re checking him ON LIVE TV not in a back room or when he first shows up. They checked him after he sat down and was waiting for his opponent. The proper time to do this was before he even got to the table to do this in private so he didn’t have to pull every he owned out of his pockets and wallet

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Players complain that anti-cheating measures are weak and some GMs are cheating and blame FIDE for lack of actions. Then FIDE gets more serious at their event and players don’t like it. I know it is popular to blame FIDE for everything, but in this case they are doing what many players wanted.

Captain here. Hikaru played the end game with 100% accuracy (yes you heard it right). Even the analyst was shocked that hikaru found the move. The move was inhuman (as in noone even considering it to be playable). But for now, they dont find any cheating device on him. And dont forget hikaru is strong 2800 player.

Disclaimer: I love Chess and I love Hikaru. The FIDE leadership is weak and in serious disarray. A threat to OTB chess in these times of transformation.
