Omg... I love that you mentioned Cas and her clutterbug system, it has helped me so much - if anyone reading this has not heard of it, I absolutely recommend looking into it.

And thank you for not only pronouncing Marie correct, but also not framing the konmari method as a road to minimalist aesthetics or minimalism per se, but for what it is: finding your favourites and having only the best for YOU!

I'll quote you from now on about not being a quantity police ❤

“Step stools in every room!” Yes, for us vertically challenged people.

I love the tone! No injunction, no magic formula that settle everything. Only good practical advice.

I feel so seen by the part about not-dirty-not-clean clothes. Thank you!

For clothing that's been worn for a few hours that are not ready to go in the hamper, I hang them up at the front of the closet. On laundry day, if they are still hanging up, then they get washed. Or if they got worn again before laundry day, then they go in the hamper. Works great.

Yes, to stepstools. I am very short just under 5 feet and I have very high ceilings. I have a folding step ladder in my closet. Cannot live without it.

I'm not particularly petite, but I have 9 ft ceilings throughout, including pantry and closets, so step stools are a must, but my favorite less known hack is silicone tipped tongs to grab high items with! I use this for my top cabinets in the kitchen all the time.

I'm not a Kondo fan (except for her folding method!) but I appreciate that you pronounce her name right!

I use the back of my closet door for staging my outfits for the next day. I also have a designated area in my closet for outfits of the week then I have come up with a rotation system so that I don't wear the same things every week. It took a long time to train my brain to be organized. I did a deep clean and purged my closet to be able to get it under control. I also change it out by season. Whew it was a job for sure but well worth the effort. Start small areas like accessories, then hand bags, then shoes, boots, coats... If it's out of sight it's out of mind. And I do have 2 closets in order to allow for the 4 seasons. I don't like to overload my closet anymore. Again, if I can't see it I won't use it. It may sound ridiculous but it really works for me. Thanks for all your helpful tips 😊

Wonderful tips!! The file folding clothes was a game changer for me too! I fold everything that way now so I can easily find it! I even fold my underwear & socks and line them up! So tidy and feels like it saves space! Our closet came with a “system” that isn’t adjustable. No place for my shoes or long hanging and no drawers!! So eventually I hope to replace it. Thanks for sharing these tips!!

Wonderful tips - I already do all of them - but thank you for one thing - thank you for not telling everyone to throw everything away and declutter everything. ❤

2 tips I took from watching your videos is the hangers and folding vertically. My closets look so much neater and I wear shirts I forgot I have and love. I use the drawer organizers because they help keeping items vertical. I also do this with my bras as you mentioned in a video (easier to find the right one). I organize blouses and skirts from light to dark which makes them easier to find.. GREAT tips.😊💜

Thanks for the tips!!

For me the color organizing didn't work because I have a loot of black clothes but my life changed when I started organizing my shirts by: no sleeves, short sleeves and long sleeves... It was amazing to see that my closed stayed organized a lot more because of that, since the reason it was always a mess it was because I was repeatedly taking out the wrong shirts 😂

It's MEEEE!!!! I'm the one that asked about organizing clothing when you fluctuate sizes (or at least I'm one of the people that did.) I wish it was between a size 6 and 8 that I fluctuated, LOL. But I find that I naturally do a lot of what Kay suggests. My tops span a few sizes pretty easily, and my pants tend to veer toward the larger size and I just wear a belt when I need to. Huge fan of stretchy fabrics. But I also have some size specific favorites that live in bins on my closet shelf labeled "fat clothes" and "skinny clothes." I also have some wishful thinking clothes I should probably just donate.

I redid my closet last year with Elfa and I’m so happy I did. My husband and I also reduced the amount of clothing we had so everything fits in the closet (walk in, 2 walls used). Organizing really makes life easier when you make systems that work for you. And a lot of the tips I got from you, thanks Kay!

I put my kids' clothes vertically, and it's the best method. So easy for them to pick up and put on.
