I think the engi in the uncle dane 2 clip (10:35) didn't understand what metal works (evidenced by them continuing to hit the dispenser even when out of metal) and so was building and destroying teleporters to collect the scraps (because of the noise they make when you pick them up). Idk why I put so much thought into it, but such odd behavior needed a potential justification
