Iron:S tier:most useful
Dimond:S Tier good for fighting
Gold c good for trading

Iron: Can be obtained from iron golem farms, which are easy to make.
Gold: Can be obtained from z piglin farms, which are easy to make.
Quartz: Needed for a few essential Redstone components such as observers and (more importantly) comparators. Also, can only be obtained from mining ore.
Netherite: Not even necessary.
Diamond: Best thing you get is a jukebox, with enchantment table in close second.
Coal: Too many fuel alternatives, such as charcoal from tree farms.
Lapis: Very good for enchanting and dying things.
Redstone: Can only be obtained from mining ore or a witch farm, which are a pain to make.

Conclusion: S tier comprises of Redstone, Quartz and Lapis
