1000% agree! Leg pressing(variations) and hack squats built my quads like no other

Agree! Health and "injury free" should be #1 for most lifters. Did some intense Hack Squats today along with Sled Leg Presses and some slow, full-range, mid weight Leg Extensions. Generally, I don't do Squats since my gym has a great Hack Squat machine (and few people use it).

The fear is a dangerous modern virus. Ronnie Coleman is not a good example to take when you talk about squatting. For memories, he didn't stop training for a decade with his injury not healed, thanks to the drugs !
More tension in lower back ? Of course ! This is why you have to be very carefully with this move but at the same time this is why he's so powerfull ! A lot of muscles and the core strengh are tested during à squat.
So i don't know why i put this comment, science is clear with these question since 40 years +!
Squat is the king. Others exercise are good but inferior in terms of strengh and hypertrophy builders.

I did barbell squats for years. It literally caused compression of my spine. Don’t talk to me about form. My firm was impeccable. I have lost over an inch of height and it mainly happened in my late 40s. I now do hack squats and it does not put the pressure on your spine that barbell squats do.

Honestly im not doing anymore old squats, and no more old fashioned bench press either.
I prefer to use hack machine, V hack machine, and smith for squating, and those new bench press machines from vertical position and better chest muscles isolation

From my personal experience, I 100% agree with you.
And btw: Hack Squats are probably the best machine to explode your quads, even superior to a Leg Press.

Also agree on the "suffering" part.
Hack Squats make my quads burn of intense pain, like no other leg exercise. And I used to hate Hack Squats for that. But as soon as I realized the superior advantages of it for quads development, it has now become my first choice exercise.

Awesome, I really dislike barbell squat, I feel like my legs are too short for that exercise and it's the most uncomfortable for me. I'll take hack then !

I got a cervical sprain while I was doing hack squat machine in the last rep, and I'm not a beginner, in the videos about how to use the machine they talk about feet position, squat depth and lower back position, I was doing it properly for more than a year. Although it's true in the barbell squat you feel more the lower back than the quads don't think using hack squat machine and others machines you're safer from suffer an injury.
Conclusion: do the exercise best for you and if even following the instructions you're feeling something wrong, switch to another exercise.

Do a different variation like a front squat.

I switch to hack sqat before i watched your videos, hack is also pleasing for my knees, i immediately quit barbell sqat as soon as i felt it easier and effective,

I prefer hacksquats just because i dont feel safe when squatting. Im worried about the failure stage. I never have rir in sets. Hesitant to tru squats..

Hack Squats are i guess for people who dont wanna get insane strong shin Muscles like they dont wanna jump, Sprint or be just athletic or stuff. They only train the big muscles in the easy range of motions. And later they wonder why they aint that fit like a Madara Uchiha. 🙂😂

I used to do barbell squats on a full body split because well, its barbell squat, right? Cant go wrong with it.

Bitch, i already had back problems, but this shit ruined me. I renember one time where i fell like my lower back was tearing apart and i had to rerack fast, just to stay there sitting down until i got to walk again. And my form was perfect, but it still hitted my lower back like a motherfucker.
