This has and always will be a question that will have many varying answers. I think it is obvious that certain jobs require school after high school (doctor, lawyer, engineer, ect.), but starting your own business or being an entrepreneur does not necessarily require college. Thanks for the video!

I think traditional education is a must for most ordinary people. It provides a regimented framework for people to learn in, to give them contacts and peers to share ideas and learn alongside. (I didn't go, mind you).


BUT ordinary never gets extraordinary results. That said, to be an entrepreneur doesn't require college. It will require an extraordinary amount of knowledge and discipline, but an entirely different skill set that can't necessarily be taught in a traditional classroom. Remember, ordinary never changed the world.


It's a real shame that college costs so much in most places in the world, almost like its meant to shackle people so they are forced to work, especially now that the internet has opened so many peoples eyes to the alternative pathways through life.

College: what are you going to do? Nurse accountant doctor lawyer data scientist actuary (buffet was an actuary at one time) accountant financial engineer engineer systems engineer, statistician: all require a degree or 4-6 semesters of college math just to get the job or the certification to get the job. Even computer science, data science and IT is becoming so competitive that a programming or application certifications isn’t enough to get hired at a good entry level position or to maximize your earning and advancement potential. If you want to learn a trade and funnel that money into savings and entrepreneurship, fine do that. But the best jobs do require some college to excel at.

If you have the self-discipline and drive to network and learn, you don't need college! Problem is that it's hard to have that, and can be helpful when a college sets up networking opportunities for you and teaches you (assuming you have the right degree that is actually teaching something practical)!
