Another quick repair. Complaint, strange ringing noise. Sounds like a microphonic tube? The customer suspected a defective tube. He was right. The 12ax7 was defective, very sensitive. Easy fix, Happy customer. I only charged for the tube. Yes, I'm a nice guy!

Watch out, i just bought a tube tester. Really old and used. Missing screws burnt resistor, non op volt meter. No manual. It may take me a while but i getting it. Wish me luck. Searching for a signal generator now. Thanks for the encouragement.

I had a HotRod Deluxe come in once... the speaker had backed off the baffle by an 8th inch... it vibrated the tubes to death. Killed the power tubes, and the pre amp tubes. Plus, it accelerated the "hot resistor" issues those amps have. Fun times....

I must say, I have a little Super Champ XD at home for practicing, and the Fender 12AX7 that came with it that has FENDER written on it in RED script is the best 12AX7 I have ever used. I've tried several others over the years, and nothing sounds as good not only in that amp, but I also tried it in my Victoria Double Deluxe, and it sounded fantastic in that amp too. I don't know who made that tube. (It doesn't have GT on it, so I don't think Groove Tubes made it.) I would love to find a small stock of them.

I have a '94 version. Looks like a computer inside. But boy, it really sounds great! Especially overdriven a bit!

Hello Mister, thank you very much for your videos, so I have a Blues Deluxe reissue exactly like yours, and some people told me to change the V1 Tubes by a 12AY7 to change my amp too loud vs clean and useful, what di you think about that ? Thank you from France

My 93’ blues deluxe pops randomly, it sounds like a record player. I pulled the tubes and circuit board. Checked capacitors visually and found the 2 porcelain resisters are cracked just a bit on top and look burnt at the solder points. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

Yeah those Sovtek 12AX7LPS are great tubes. Marshall also recommends them.

Can you just replace one tube or is it better to replace all three?

I have a Randall RG-100HG Guitar amp head. I get power but no sound at all from this amp. I can find the exact schematic but another Rg-100. Can you recommend a troubleshooting technique. I've done the obvious checks, caps bulging, cold solder joints. faulty circuit breaker, burn marks. The transformer puts out 74 volts to the DC diode and there is voltage coming out of it. Not sure how to check the 4 transistor power amp side. Thanks for listening.

Good evening. Can you tell us the Sovtex set of tubes specs you suggest for the fender blues deluxe reissue?

Hi, great video's. I've got a Marshall Master Lead Combo transistor amp and trying to figure out if the two 8 ohm speaker are series or parallel? Any tips appreciated. It looks like it's a 16 ohm amp since there's two clean wires coming out of the amp but just a just. The speaker are out of it so I'm just looking a a red and black wire coming out of the amp.

I have the same amp. It was cutting out a couple weeks ago and then all of a sudden, it will not even play through any music. It powers on and if I flip it to standby then it will pop but no tone from the guitar. Any ideas on what could have happened?

I have this same amp and am having a big problem with it- the drive channel won’t work at all-I suspect those big 5w 470ohm resistors or the diodes after them but can’t figure it out. Should I mail it to you terry? Want to make a video with it ? Lol 😂 Dang circus boards!

I know this video is like 3 years old and this is a real hip shot, but I have an original 1995 Fender Blues Deluxe, one of the 1000 that were made that year and I need to replace the tubes. It has the original tubes in it. The whole thing is original. How can I get some more information?

Can this amp be run with just one power tube for a lower wattage output?
