This album was huge upon release, you could not turn on the radio without hearing a song from it

"What's she got not a lot". Always makes me chuckle

The whole "Breakfast in America" album was great. "Crime of the Century" was one of the best ever.

This is one of the greatest albums of the 70s, period.

Yes, they used real instruments. I was a low brass player (which was not exactly the road to coolness as a late 70's teenager) so hearing the tuba and trombone in this song was always a thrill.

"Take The Long Way Home" would be another great Supertramp song to do.

Keep the Supertramp going! Even in the Quietest Moments is a fantastic album. "Fool's Overture" is 11 minutes of musical genius.

This whole album is absolute gold. I was too young at the time to truly appreciate it but I sure do now.

For Chicago, "Beginnings" is a must. The wall of horns, the drum solo, it's just *chef's kiss*.

Don't forget Blood, Sweat and Tears when you talk about great horn groups! You've done a few of their songs. Definitely one of the best!

My family played Supertramp's "Crime of the Century" at my cousins funeral. Still sends chills up my spine when I hear it. Chicago suggestion: "If You Leave Me Now".

This whole album was hot on the charts in 1979

No matter how many people love them. They will still be underrated.

I’m lucky to have experienced Supertramp’s live performance in the 80s. Incredible concert.

Imagine the lives we were leading as 20-somethings in the magnificent, partytown wonderful 70’s.the atmosphere everywhere was get out and get down.
I so miss that greatest of all decades when life was so much simpler.

Saw Supertramp in Las Vegas. They were dressed in all white and all the instruments were black. Lights go down slowly and it was like they just disappeared. Freakin Awesome.😎

This is my favourite Supertramp song and I am so glad you enjoyed it. Their lead singer Roger Hodgson said no one gets this song like the British but I think it has a universal appeal. The whole song plays up idea of someone unsatisfied with life and striving for the American Dream without really understanding the culture. One obvious line, he wants kippers for breakfast because that's fancy to him but a low class meal in Texas. It's about reaching for fame and celebrity without really knowing what that means. It's a joke but an earnest one.

I love your realization of current artist sampling classics like these from back in the days. And you’re right Amber, it is “Cupid’s Chokehold” from Gym Class Heroes (not Maroon 5).
