Trongate & Packagist - the ultimate Unholy Alliance

Anyone who knows about how I code will know that I've never been a huge fan of PSR, Composer, Packagist and all that stuff. Indeed, I have spent a lot of time working on a new eco-system that will offer developers an alternative, easier and faster way of downloading code libraries.

Nevertheless, Packagist - for better or worse - is huge and contains many millions of PHP libraries. It would be unfortunate, I think, if the Trongate community turned our backs on everything on Packagist, because we would be missing out on a lot of great resources.

So, today, let's answer an important question:

Can Trongate work with Packagist?

We use composer for PHP packages and Yarn for JavaScript packages (it's not just for node, it's just another dependency manager).

So does this end up serving the file from /vendor/ on the frontend or relative to the file? ie. /goldmine/invoices/vendor/

The former would be better for caching and re-use elsewhere on the site.
