So helpful. Taking swimming lessons for the first time this weekend and I’m looking forward to learning so much.

Thank you so much Johnny! I’ve now improved my rotation thanks to the arm claw drill. Now I only look to the sides of the pool, side kicking and arm claw to transition from one side to the other. Next I will be taking one big breath instead of multiple small ones when I’m on my dominant side. Now I think I’m naturally transitioning into it. I’ve been able to reach all these milestones because you’ve layed a clear map for us and I practice 3 times a week.

AMAZING pointers! So simple and yet no one taught me the air in lungs technique until I was in my later 20's. Insane. But it's up to us to inquire about what we want to learn, so thank you for being here for us who do!

This is the best swimming channel for us beginners! Glad I can practice these pointers at my gym here in SoCal!

Hi Johnny, I've been following your videos for 6 weeks now and I can do freestyle thanks to the pineapple/half pineapple rollover transition that I still use when I get tired in freestyle. I think I'm going to plateau soon. Is there a video that can help me improve my speed, my catch and pull, and my rotation techniques?

This video came right on time as i started doing backfloat again during swimming. I found it helpful in the beginning of this video to have air in your lungs as you backfloat. I dont know why though but i have sometimes found my head heavy as i backfloat.Any suggestions would be helpful thanks 👍

I remember one time I went swimming an I claimed a corner and just floated looking up at the clouds for about 30min. Someone who was sitting by the pool was surprised and congratulated me for being able to float that long. I was a bit confused as it seemed like the most natural and easy thing. Now it makes sense.

When she does the back float and kicks, she needs to kick from the hips, not knees!

Yeah but I'll sink every time I exhale no? I'm talking about just floating in stillness, not hat speed thing you're talking about.
