Outfield throwing drill for longer and path

Показать описание
An outfield throw is a lot farther than an infield throw, therefore we need a longer arm path. This drill helps feel that path and getting to where we need to be before firing forward.

You can either have someone standing behind you holding the ball or place a ball on a tee.

I used this drill last practice, and it helped my girls get stronger throws everywhere on the field. Thank you!

Great idea with the T!
A side by side comparison
outfield / infield throw would be cool.

Awesome drill lol I used it before my intramural softball game with little experience in throwing from the outfield, and I'm glad I did because I would have been throwing with a short arm path and not following through entirely with my arm and body.

So thanks for preventing my shoulder/elbow injury.

I have had a good arm since I was little and it’s great 😊

What if ur an infielder and is throwing an outfielder throw and can’t really find the in between, if that makes sense

Wouldn’t that create arm drag? I don’t think the length of the arm matters as much as the position of the arm when the foot hits

Tell me honestly do you think baseball or softballs harder.

But the ball is never picked up in that position, why hand it to them? Let them field a grounder then tell them to use their whole arm

Uh, you should naturally figure that out
