Nobody talks about it but aa dining helps make c1 savor one card blow the gold card out of the water as a dining card if you live in a major city.

Tip for getting the 5x points on all aa dining is to just find the cheapest eligible fast food joint in your area. Buy the cheapest item on the menu 11 different times and youll hit vip for the 5x points on all dining. Each transaction codes as a visit.

Aa has been very kind with upgrades to me flying from so cal. Cheers luke.

Mileage runs at the end of the year to get to the next status tier used to be a fun activity. But the status programs are a joke now. They’re rewarding big spenders, not frequent fliers. This is the epitome of that. It was nice to hear Luke admit that upgrades are non-existent at the lower tiers.

Learning something new every day! Haven’t flown AA in a while but it looks like I don’t have to 😂! Awesome tips Uncle Luke!

You ain't lyin' about AA's tight connections. PHX and DFW are notorious! I remember running through DFW to make a 40 min connection which turned into 15 min since we were delayed, only to find out my connecting flight couldn't get fuel on the plane and had to deboard and wait for a spare 😂. Hope you get some good results and look forward to hearing about them 👍

I never thought about approaching airline status this way. Thank you for being so transparent and telling us the good and the bad ! I really appreciate it 😊

Great stuff Luke, I'm getting on the challenge starting March 1. As you said, we still get valuable AA miles even if we don't get status.

Would be great to see a table listing how much you earned from each type of technique.

I’m Platinum Pro and I typically get upgraded around 75% of the time, even into and out of Charlotte. Probably 50/50 out of DFW but I fly into a small market. I re-qualified for the same status beginning 3/1/24. It will be interesting to see whether status is worth it going forward. Thanks for the great video!

I love that Simply Miles and the Shopping Portal stacks. I like to use the Bilt Mastercard for every purchase through the Shopping Portal, Simply Miles, and AA dining. Since Bilt is the only transfer partner to AA, it further boosts the amount of AA miles that I can earn.

I'm trying to get enough AA points to make a first class intercontinental flight for me and my wife's anniversary for next year. Great content as always Luke!

Interesting video Uncle Luke. Great ways to earn AA miles/status. So many ways to hack the game. You are a master Uncle Luke. Good stuff!! 😁

Matched Globalist to Platinum Pro last year, love it so far!

Super interesting to hear how you did that. And I loved the advice around not changing spending habits for airline status. That's a bit too prevalent in this space haha.

Never knew about AA shopping portal! Excellent! Thanks for this helpful tip; as I have no desire to grab up an airline card.

My dad is a 4 million mile lifetime platinum with AA. Hit it a looong time ago and still rarely flies AA anymore. AA is more expensive or less convenient than some other airlines like Southwest or Delta with the routes he flies to visit grandkids. So he spent all those miles and trips getting status and it’s not even worth it to him anymore and he’d rather just get the better flight instead of using the airline he’s got great status on forever. That shifted my mindset on chasing status because if the guy who loves comfort (my dad) has lifetime Platinum with AA and doesn’t even fly AA because of how worthless it is to him, then I won’t bother as a traveler who only travels for vacation a few times a year.

Delta is the same way with the shopping and dining to earn some extra without flying good video luke

I've been doing this, not for status but for the miles. I got myself a decent amount back in november.

Good video Luke! I’ve been AA Platinum Pro the last 2-3 years and I only get upgraded 1 every 10 segments or so. And it’s usually for a short segment like CLT > TPA. Not sure the value is there for me.

No sitting with the peasants for Uncle Luke! Great strategy! I’ve only used Rakuten but the AA portal sounds intriguing! Thanks for the information brother!🫵
