I run a dirt work company and live about 1h north of you - I’m happy to come down with an excavator and help for a day on the rock garden build!!!

I’m totally onboard with rig owners who are excited, and very understanding with those rig-owners who are apprehensive.

The competition is a challenge of your spotting, patience and communications skills. The bet is “your rig.” I can understand people not wanting to make that bet.

I generally don't let others drive my rig, and I definitely wouldn't want someone who doesn't have a clue how to drive offroad, take it over a large obstacle. Sand hallow and moab are not your typical wheeling experiences for 90% of the offroad community. Those guys in Utah are lucky to have such a wonderful place to wheel basically all year long. The rest of us don't see rock like that except when we make the trip out there.

I am excited to bring Team Truck Melanoma’s melanoma outreach to the Offroad Games. We too have been having people back out, but I plan to stay the course! I’m excited to meet everyone, pass out some sunscreen samples and educate on what to watch for on the skin in terms of melanoma and other skin cancers.
It’s going to be a great event!

Some tips with using that new machine of yours. I am an excavator operator out here in Colorado. When digging you want to make sure that you're scraping the dirt and rock with the teeth and not the back of the bucket. What works for me is I take the dirt down in layers. If the dirt is hard to dig in I'll keep scratching layers until I get enough loose dirt to get a full bucket, then I'll scoop the dirt out. In addition to digging with the teeth is you won't be wearing out the bucket itself. Since the teeth are the wear items. That also means you won't have to weld crisscross beads all over the bucket to keep it from wearing out. When the teeth wear out don't throw them away, you can weld some AR plates to the tips of them and reuse the teeth. That way you're only buying a second set of teeth and not tens or hundreds of teeth (depending on how much you use the machine).

Good luck in the games, I think it will grow everyone's channel who are involved, I mean, I now subscribe and watch Robbie Layton, fabrats and trail master thanks to their involvement with and now I'm subscribed and will be watching your channel thanks to competition (said in the most light hearted way) ...👍👍👍

This is the ultimate collab. Two of my worlds crossing over 😂

off-road x F1 content.

I agree with Paul Cox in that the personal liability is just too high for it to be a good idea. I think Matt would have been smart to keep to the original formula that worked so well last year.

its the problem of wanting to win versus wanting to have fun. matt's contest is about having fun!... oh, yeah and its a competition. enjoy!

Getting to see the Sami in person is honestly one of the biggest reasons I’m looking forward to going to the games this year! Stoked you’re still in despite the risks!

Oh my goodness. You are partnered with Scott Mansell! I will be routing for your team then, 100%. I have followed Driver 61 and the now defunct Overdrive channels forever. Scott is an amazing driver on tarmac, and still holds a lap record at Brands Hatch (which he does like to keep reminding us of). I think he will be a quick learner, and he will certainly have the nerve to do scary stuff.

As to people pulling out, I was not impressed when Fab Rats Paul said he was not going, and it sounded like he'd thrown his toys out of his pram. I hear what you say about safety etc. Paul is a good and close friend of Matt Wetzel, and IMO should have shown support for his friend.

Basically I have noticed that ANY channel that gains massive popularity like Matts Offroad for being an incredibly fun and entertaining channel, then also gets blamed for having massive success.

It’s basically a catch-22. People want you to be a really good channel, but then get mad when being a really good channel leads to high levels of success, which in turn leads to more responsibility and the need to widen your channels ability.

The whole point of this event was to bring Youtubers together to drive offroad in a fun and controlled fashion. Not that complicated. But after that the massive success of the wrecker games that is what people ASKED for, bigger and better.

Wow, I don't know if I could do it. If I had a dedicated buggy that is meant to be wheeled until it breaks and is safe enough to let someone else break it, then maybe. But I don't have a dedicated buggy so letting someone else hard core wheel my Jeep, nope.

Honestly hoping to see the event from your eyes, and the conversations you have with Driver 61. Glad you guys did well!
