I do exactly the same by updating the links with each order.

I use Illustrator quite often for this. (Place PDF, aspect, effect, transform... etc)

There are scripts for not very expensive that can do this automatically. I am thinking in particular of William Campbell's scripts.

Very cool tutorial, might be helpful for a lot of people.
Last year I made the switch to a Script, that basically puts this whole process into a single window and automates it. The price has gone up to 4 bucks a month but it's such a time saver.
This video kinda explains what the script is doing behind the scenes, which is cool.

I can do this in less then 1 minute with Kodak Preps, this is a huge vaste of time
