Thats seems invasive. I wouldn’t give my phone to a stranger and would think you are a total creep for asking.

My barber gave me his business card after my hair cut and I’m planning on calling him back because it was amazing. People are going to call you if you’ve done a good job.

Everyone who is genuinely interested in your service still asks for your business card. This is just awkward to do.

If someone approached me like this, I’d tell them to take a hike.

Not bad advice, but I improved it for you

Instead of putting you number into their phone and giving it back to them instead just steal the phone and run away

I've done this numerous times and have amassed a wast collection of phones and no longer need to work as I just sell the phones online for parts

The best this about this strategy is the person who gave you the phone can't even call the police given that I have their phone so I don't need to worry about that

That seems so aggressive. I’d never do business with someone who did that

“Do you have a business card?”

“No, but give me your phone.”

Thank God...I thought I was the only one who felt uncomfortable with this advice...I will never contact someone who does that to me....

"Hey, instead of handing you a .01 cent piece of paper with my personal/business info such as my phone number, email, website could you please hand me your 1k dollar device so I can text myself your personal information instead?" - Something I would have done between 16-22 trying to mow lawns.

this is what people do at nightclubs. do this at a networking meeting with the owner or a company of a executive at a corporation, you'll be in for a ride awakening.

If it worked for you that doesn’t mean it’s going to work for others. People don’t like the fact that you now have their phone number, it’s better they get to know you first on the business card instead of being invasive

Give them business card snatch their phone and run away till you disappear. He will definitely call you as soon as possible

The whole point of the business card. Is some people don't feel comfortable giving out their information right away. They're any to go home look you up and your business. Then once they see your real/not a scam, what they looking for and your worth it. That's when they give you a call, then you have make sure to pick that call up.

Honesty this advice has to be a joke right ??? 😂

Honestly this approach is a little off, I remember being a teenager and not knowing what boundaries were and when guys would ask me for my number I’d say, “no I don’t give my number out to strangers”. But then they’d say, well lemme just put my number in, if you change your mind. So id let them and of course, they’d call themselves right in front of me. My heart would sink.

As someone who works decently high up at an organization with many many vendors wanting to contact me, if you did this to me I would NEVER take my business to you. This gives the impression that your style of business relies on presence and aggression over knowledge and tact.

Business cards don’t suck because it’s something tangible that the person will eventually find in their wallet. I’ve sold so much art with business cards
