Games discussed this month include

RAJAS OF THE GANGES
In this dice-driven, economic, territory-building game, players in Rajas of the Ganges race against each other by developing their estates into wealthy and magnificent provinces. Players must use their dice wisely and carefully plot where to place their workers, while never underestimating the benefits of good karma. Success will bring them great riches and fame in their quest to become legendary rulers.

FEUDUM
Feudum is an economic game of hand and resource management in a medieval setting. In the game, 2-5 players players control several characters that roam the countryside tending farms, taxing towns and taking outposts in effort to rise in power. Along the way, players will also have to compete to acquire coveted feudums, which increase their membership status in a half-dozen different guilds. And if that wasn’t enough, players must also pay homage to the king through military service or face the charge of disloyalty.

TOTALLY LIQUID: EXPANSION FOR DINOSAUR ISLAND
The Totally Liquid expansion allows the game to be played with up to five players, and add several new things to the game, such as water dinosaurs, new parkboard extensions, executive worker meeples that give unique worker abilities to each player, a blueprints module that rewards players when they build certain park layouts, and PR events that create hidden scoring opportunities.

CAVERNA: CAVE VS CAVE
In the two-player game Caverna: Cave vs. Cave, each player starts the game with only two dwarves and a small excavation in the side of a mountain. Over the course of eight rounds, they'll double their workforce, open up new living space in the mountain, construct new buildings and rooms in which to live, and dig for precious metals. After eight rounds, players tally their points for buildings constructed and gold collected to see who wins. Cave Vs Cave’s appearance on the hotness list may have been related to a solo-play challenge that was posted on the game’s forums last month. I’ll add a link to the Cave Vs Cave solo challenge discussion in the video description for anyone who may have this game and wants to give this solo challenge a try.

DUNGEON ALLIANCE
Dungeon Alliance is a deck-building, dungeon-crawling miniatures adventure game that allows players to send 1-4 different teams of adventurers into perilous dungeons in search of experience and treasure. At the start of the game, each player drafts their own team of four heroes and uses tactical movement and card play to overcome the dungeon's monsters and treasures. Each player starts with a unique twelve-card starting deck that includes the starting cards from all four of their heroes. Rival teams may compete with one another to slay monsters, or even battle one another for complete domination. The first printing of Dungeon Alliance sold out in March, but the game’s publisher has stated that a second printing is planned soon.

Love this series, even if it's... Ridiculously sticky.

Chaz! Glad to see you are alive and kicking

So... are you regretting doing a "Top 10 most popular" list yet? At this point it has become a thematic list with the top-10 as the backdrop. Wouldn't it be better to just do the thematic lists?

I think you guys make great videos and they are very informative but I am trying to understand how you guys come up with your top 10 for each month. I've viewed bbg site hotness list in the past weeks for May and I've seen a few games that should have been listed. Black Rose Wars which has been on the top of the list for weeks. Then there is EXO: Mankind Reborn which was up there as well (for a short time). Also Jurssic Park Danger! has been moving up in the list as well.

Chaz!! It's been too long.
I can only assume you're recovering from a recent crab person attack, which explains why you'd be floating in a bath of therapeutic nutrient broth...

You know, Occam's Razor and all.

Chaz, you are awfully due for another Thrift Sift :).
Those were hilariously fun to watch. My wife started to watch your show after your Tenzi review... and she mentions from time to time if there's another Thrift Sift out... and recently, i sadly always answer "nope".

Rajas is such a fun and well-designed game. To have that many systems in place and have them all work well together is quite the accomplishment.

I really loved the fact that you spiced things up by mentioning these other games. Otys has some really awesome theme and Dungeon Alliance has a really set of mechanics! On the offhand, have you gotten to play Feudum Chaz? I REALLY love the look, theme, and mechanics, but I've heard mixed opinions.

What makes a game "hot" on board game geek? Is it based on number of plays that month, or comments on the game's forums? Some combination of things? I'm interested to know.
