Around the same time we started the channel we also started recording every single game we played! In this video, we go through our top ten most played games (since we began Board Of It) and discuss the difference between the ease of getting a game to the table vs. the love you have for a game.

Love your videos. This particular video is a subject I have requested many reviewers make. We all have favorite games but many times those aren't the ones that actually get to the table. It's nice to see the contrast between favorite/most played as you might be able to find something you've never heard of. My most played games are also not my favorites (but I still enjoy them). I also like how you got into the psychology of why you may choose to play one game over another. I certainly played newer games even if they aren't as enjoyable as a way to justify the purchase lol. Another video idea could be games you wish you COULD get to table more often than you do.

This was really interesting! Thanks for posting this video! The suggestion made already to rank games by the number of hours played would also be great. What about a "most-played" designer or publisher? There are some games mentioned that have a common creative team. It might be fun to see which of those often capture and keep your interest. Cheers!

I "force" everyone to play more complex games, so my list would look a bit different.
Most played game is probably Dominion (150+ plays). I dont like it as much as I did in the past, but it is easy, fast and even non gamers tend to like it. Other lighter games might be Codenames because if we play it, we play it 3-6 times in a row, so everyone can give hints at least once and the crew.
When it comes to heavier games it would most likely be Spirit Island, Puerto Rico, Res Arcana, Power Grid.

I find it interesting that you guys review a lot of med to heavy games, while this list is mostly lighter affair. Maybe do a top 10 most played games between you two, cutting out all the games that you okayed with guests. Might be an interesting list that contrasts with this one. I also find it interesting that even though my wife and i seldomly play with friends/guests, and even though we love heavier games, all the games that we’ve played 15-20+ times are lighter games like cat lady, santa monica carcassonne, viticulture, while the heaviest games with higher play count are brass b and pax pamir at around 15 plays

I would like to see some of the "cult classic" games reviews as opposed to always the newest game. I know it was incorporated in a previous video, but I'd love to see a full on review of Food Chain Magnate and Nemesis for example.

Now that you've posted this video and talked about this, will it be hard to keep this out of your head? i.e. Boy, I want to play Root three more times so it goes up the list for next time we do this. Another way you could do this is estimate the total playing time and rank by that. The lighter games will fall a bunch and the really heavy ones will go up the rankings.
