HIDDEN Moonless Guard Cavedweller Event in #fearandhunger

When you start a new game, there is a 10% chance that when you come across the Cavedweller village, you will find all of the residents have been taken out by Moonless Guards which have come up to the village from the Gauntlet within the God of the Depths’ body. What I love most about this event is how it showcases the complex ecosystem within the dungeons of Fear & Hunger and I wish we could see more random examples of creatures fighting with each other in game, and I was even lucky enough to get this event to occur during my full playthrough of the game. While it is interesting to have happen, it can make this section harder as you won’t be able to access the cavedweller merchant and with the Moonless Guards being end-game enemies, they can easily wipe or heavily damage your early game party so if this happens to you, it’s best to try and sneak around them or run from battle until you’re strong enough to face them.

Did you know... That if you kill the Moonless guard near the slayed dragon in present Ma'habre, the one in the village will be dead too?

It really it's great to find conflicts outside around you in the game. It shows there isn't that much harmony between the enemies you fight and that rivalry exists.

Just had this happen in my first playthrough, I knew there was meant to be a merchant so I walked around thinking "where's the damn merchant??" while probably walking past their corpse a dozen times lol

I only played two runs on the game, and literally both of them had the moonless guards killing the cave dwellers

The moonless guards are kinda creepy too

This got me on my first ever save and I just picked the game up for summer sale.

Honestly kind of reminds me how dungeon meshi explained that if you kill to many low level monsters on the upper floors then the more dangerous and destructive monsters will start to rise up to the upper floors and escape the dungeon spreading destruction (still funny how dungeon meshi and fear and hunger have no relations to each other except for both of them being inspired by dnd)

I got this my first terror and starvation playthrough, made it so much harder without that shopkeeper 😭

I was so confuse before to notice the Moonless Guards and start to realize they could have been the ones who killed them.

I didnt know the village could be alive until my 6th run making it there.
