So awesome hearing an SA accent on the show!
Getting a Bullmastiff is the best decision I've ever made.
My pup, Marmite is 4 months old and is such a sweetheart!

We had a Bullmastiff for about 10 years until he passed from cancer. He was the best, most loyal dog I've ever owner. He adored my kids and was a perfect family dog. The only down side was he drooled alot. I wish I had another one. I would highly recommend this breed.

I lost my mastiff about a month ago and it's still so difficult to even talk about him I don't think I could do this verbally yet or if il ever ..his name was buddy he gave me the most love I will ever know I'm 50 this next month and I've never been married or even had a girlfriend much or boyfriend for that matter and he was the connection to life and spirituality I have always sought in people but but barely could glimpse I've lived in close to a dozen states and never stayed anywhere more than 6 months growing up so it's been hard for me with long term relations I don't think anyone can give me that comfort and security that most grow up and find in friends or lovers or at least siblings and or parents lost my dad 30 years ago and felt like the world was dead almost every day after until that dog jumped into my car a stray that was certain out of a gas station full of people in rush hour I was to be his forever home. So big and a smile I couldn't turn away the vet and I guessed him to be four at the time he was almost 16 last month and I'm sorry I can't do this and tell u so much I wish I could tell the world about him the mastiff is a general giant that calms and still protects with his life if asked minds but does not do it for fear he needs fear little but the love that he does it for his only true reason he will go hungry and carry months worth of food through 60 mile per hour head winds at -40 degrees on a sheet of ice gleaming for you without you even asking or training him to because only you matter to him and God I miss him they are the angels God must keep the closest for they are so majestic and still understanding forgiving patient loving and strong very strong .

Living with my boerboel on a remote 1 acre plot for last 2 years I can confirm this breed are amazingly protective; owner first then the land boundaries. You actually do not need to train them to keep people away, they just do it! A handsome burly best mate.

As soon as I found and read about this breed I realised it was probably the perfect match for my family. The only thing I’m a bit concerned about is the fact that they’re low energy, which might become a problem as we’re pretty outdoorsy. My potential breeder doesn’t think it’ll be a problem as long as we get matched with an active and forward puppy. Anyone with experience of having a bullmastiff who enjoys going for slow, shortish (3-4 hour) hikes every now and then, and having a long walk (1-1, 5 hour) every day?
