I’ve been waiting for broaching content on this channel FOREVER! I’m excited to see more!

This machine works because it knows where it isn't broaching. By subtracting where it is broaching from where it isn't broaching, or where it isn't broaching from where it is broaching (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The broaching bearing system uses deviations to generate corrective vibration frequency to drive the broaching bit from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a broaching point where it wasn't, it now is.

Consequently, the bore hole where it is, is now the bore hole that it wasn't, and it follows that the bore hole that it was, is now the bore hole that it isn't.

In the event that the bore hole that it is in is not the bore hole that it wasn't, the broaching machine has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the bore hole is, and where it wasn't.

If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the broaching head. However, the broaching head must also know where it was.

I’m an engineer and I’m officially fucking mind blown. This is the coolest thing ever…

I see you finally broach the question on how to make square holes.
I will see myself out.😅

If you don’t want to wipe out your lead-in and have nasty burrs the top face, bump the broach against the workpiece with slight pressure, without the spindle turning, then start the spindle and go to depth.

Really good video. I've only done it at home so never seen it elsewhere. In case some of you are wondering why the broach appeared to be spinning before it starts cutting, the broach cutter works by rocking the cutting edges into or onto the piece. You'll see that as soon as it stops spinning the top of the broach is being rocked from side to side so that it cuts as it goes down.

I love that framerate matches exactly when it touches the block

What in the actual F? Never seen anything like this before. Also not a machinist, but wtf that is crazy. Now I want to know how that works

broaching is awesome! i've never done it in a mill but a lathe is pretty sweet =)

Never seen it with the spindle on that is a crazy tool

Our company uses a broken mill as a drill that makes 4.6mm holes with a 4.2mm drill. I think I'll try this technique!

I know absolutely nothing about any of this, but the way that chuck wobbles makes me wonder how precise this is 😅

I broach at work with the exact same "broaching head" on an okuma multus b300Ii

Of all things I’ve done, this was one of the hardest to picture in my mind, such a complex concept but an awesome step forward in how we can machine things
