this does piss me off, why couldn't this have been based on a save file, most people who completed the dex but don't do living got rid of majority of the pokemon long ago.

So I just had a look at my Home mobile and it looks like having a living dex does not count if the pokemon did not come from that particular game. So now I need to go back and catch a load of random mons from Scarlet and Violet just to fill the regional dex.

"Meloetta is an old pokemon from an long time ago" this made me feel ancient. I remember when they were advertising this pokemon 😢

So I just spent an hour transferring stuff from the various games on my switch and discovered that Pokémon caught in games other than SV don’t count towards the completion, even if it’s the same Pokémon.

For example: my Ralts caught in BDSP completes the entry in my National/BDSP dex, but not my SV dex.

This is infuriating, and I’m probably not going to bother now.

This is such a stupid restriction. What’s the point of having HOME in the first place if you still have to capture everything in each individual game?

I noticed months ago that I didn't have these dexs complete, but I think registering all of your shiny giveaways filled them in with me consciously doing it.

I like they added a guidebook in pokemon home that tells u where to find pokemon

I know a lots of people haven’t completed their Pokedexes in SV, but I am one of those who did all three, INCLUDING THE VERSION EXCLUSIVES. All that’s left is to transfer the Pokémon to HOME, and I’ll have a shiny Meloetta of my own! You can get this whenever you like iirc. The accomplishment unlocks the gift.

What’s so weird is I just did this a few days ago cause I was bored and wanted something to do. That all of a sudden we now get the shiny meloetta so that’s cool!

This is actually insane, I have not even come close to finishing my Scarlet Pokédex in home, it's gonna take a while. Especially since I also don't have the paid version of home

The fact that you have to have caught every single one of the Pokémon in the the Scarlet and violet Pokedex for each region in the game, not just having the Pokedex entry is absolutely absurd. I completed the Pokedex. I don't care what they say, I completed the damn Pokedex, I should not have to arbitrarily complete another list of Pokémon to have to catch just for one fucking shiny. This is why people hate the Pokémon company. This is the stupidest thing.

Before I found you, BLAINES, I had never bothered with shiny collecting. Too much work, even being a living dex collector. Thanks to you, I now have over 600 species of shiny pokemon, and may well one day have a shiny living dex. Thank you

Honestly, if the only condition was completing the dexs in the game, not home, it wouldn't be too bad. But I don't still have all those pokemon, between trading and just releasing, and I'm not going to transfer all of those to home, especially since you only have access to one box.
