An excerpt from our Duxford Year 2013 DVD and Blu-ray programme featuring highlights from the 3 IWM Airshows.

Here we go on board with Mark Linney for his F-86A solo display during the spring airshow. The event commemorated the 70th anniversary of the American air forces arriving at RAF Duxford in the Second World War.

To me the F-86 is the epitome of a jet. The lines are pure and simple.

This is the most beautiful aircraft ever created, period. I think it's what the original German concept aircraft was intended to become.

Thanks for the feedback Stewjw. For a display like this we like to include as much of the routine as possible in our 'interactive in-cockpit' special features on DVD and Blu-ray. They allow you to switch between ground and in-cockpit views throughout the whole display using your angle button. In short - no cuts and you choose the view.

Its a great watch! The full display will be included on the DVD/Blu-ray along with any other on board recordings we make at the other IWM Airshows.

I could watch the cockpit camera video from take off to landing. Perfect lighting conditions for the GoPro. That is one lucky pilot to be flying a vintage Sabre.

Excuse me as I wax nostalgic: as an elementary school kid I had the North American F-86 and the MiG 15 locked in an eternal dogfight suspended from my bedroom ceiling. Revell kits both I believe, with the Sabre in silver with a black nose and Air Force markings, and the cursed MiG in commie red. (We're talking early 70s here.) I had the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom at the sacred spot on top of my chest of drawers, but the F-86 held the lead in my adolescent imagination as my favorite dogfighter. It looked fast. Even next to the MiG 15 it looked fast. Those two jets seemed to me to be the best example of a fair fight.
Disclaimer: No, my model of the F-4 Phantom II did NOT leak oil all over my chest of drawers, despite the many times I've heard that joke.

Does the DVD have fewer edits in the cockpit than shown here. Also I noticed in your recent Russian AirForce 100 DVD the picture was a little grainy. I don't think its my PC hardware which I view on a 1920 x 1080 HD monitor. Good video and narration by the way, especially the Su-35 display.

Even standing still, with its air intake resembling a screaming and threatening mouth, it says, "BRING IT ON!"😁😁😁😁😁
