Bought the Acer V15 5 days ago for $600. It is quite powerful laptop! It can run GTA V and BF4 on medium settings, 1080p and got 50-60+fps!

Why do channels always mention League and Dota? Sure they're popular titles but don't require much of anything to play. Play something demanding.

Thank You so much for this! I'm an engineering student in need of a great laptop for gaming and productivity work such as AutoCAD and Solidworks at a good price point. This was very helpful! Thanks again!

I got an MSI GL62 folks and it is a fine beast of a machine. If you do not mind playing at medium-high, or high settings (theres actually little diff between med and ultra settings) then this thing will run even the latest games like DOOM at high frame rates on 1080p. will it help if you are the crazy gamer who needs to power up 3 displays, and plans to play at 4K? No. Be my guest and spend 5-7k on a system then. But if you are the gamer who plays casually, is okay playing at medium settings which is owsum quality btw, and wants to play games on their laptop then this is one to look out for. Does not overheat much, offers great fps, plays virtually every single game i throw at it, and is dirt cheap ( i got mine for 600 USD). Give it a shot, the lenovo Y700 is great too btw for a lilttle extra.

I found a Lenovo Y50 with 1080p ips touch screen, 960m(4gb vram), 4720hq, 8gb DDR3L, 1TB HDD, for $482 open box at bestbuy.. Switched ram to 16gb($65) and hdd to 850 evo$94).. Roughly $700 all together.. Good Deal or no? Only issue was screen flicker after W10 update. updated BIOS and no more flicker.

I think it's worth waiting a few weeks to maybe a month for newer laptops featuring the 1060m, 1070m, and 1080m to come out. Hopefully the 1060m will be priced around what the 960m versions are currently at, $800-$1000.

The MSI one at #2 has caught my attention. I am looking into getting a very good Gaming laptop for right around $800, and the one you mentioned hits the nail on the head for me. I just wish it has 16gb RAM, though I think I can upgrade it to that.

Contrary to the pic shown in the vid, the MSI GL62 does not have the RGB keyboard. As a matter of fact, it doesn't even have a backlit keyboard at all. From reviews I've seen it's also got a sub-par TN panel (not the excellent IPS panel of the GS series) and only has the 2gb version of the 960m. I'd go with the base model Dell 7559 for gaming or spend $100 more and get the 7559 with the i7. The improvements you get for the extra $100 over the GL62 would be worth it IMO.
