Ever since it first came to power on the back of a coup in 1958, the Pakistan Army has dominated the civic life of Pakistan. Like in so many other military-dominated countries, though, changed circumstances are shattering the illusion the ominipotence of the Generals.

Praveen has the best intros for his narration… man I could really use how to start a conversation if there’s a Praveen Swami Masterclass for that 😂

Appreciate serious 0 bias and 0 rhetoric style Journalism of Mr.Praveen. Although not every thing is agreeable what he may claim but its healthy to watch crisp 'professional journalism' .

Your example of Mobutu is a profound omen for what to expect from the current crisis in Pakistan.

Praveen! Kid you not, these days I have started having conversations with people around me with anecdotes from the books I have read over the years. They think I am being esoteric, however all credits to you! Kudos to your narration genius, learnt it from you😊

You are an example, Praveen - without any intent to actually heap praise - of the finest analysis & clear vision! Your audience is very lucky!

The Americans always told the Pakistani Army to "do more". The generals all probably got "Mors" in their home.

Macaulay putras do not convey the depth of depravity of Islamism. Old Colonial sympathy comes in the way.

I wish you spoke a bit more directly instead of round about stories.

If I were to be unfortunate enough to be born in Pakistan, I’d rather have the Military as an institution holding clandestine power with well established chain of command and change of guard every 3-6 years than a 72 year old demagogue with reported drug addiction.

A very insightful analysis of Pakistan’s current turbulence and the likely future scenario.
Praveen Swami is always profound.

The long winded & showing - off style questions of the interviewer are tedious & reduce the response time of the guests. Questions should be short crisp & evoke max responses for the viewers delight

Army’s job to fight the war, not to fight its own people.

The Army removed from power is the best outcome from India. I know Bhakts have a bone to pick with Imran since he has called our Supreme leader a bigot, but any elected Government in Pakistan has a far better option than status quo where the Army runs the show behind the scenes. For one, they will cut wasteful spending on military when their people are hungry
