They treat foreigners badly and talk about them in secret, but they do not show hatred openly.

Japanese are racist indirectly. They wouldn’t say anything to your face. For example many apartments say “no gaijin” can stay here. People afraid to sit next to you on the train. And some older people may look down on some nations which are poorer. However I’m from the UK and therefore it is held in high regard. I’ve lived here for 10 years and I feel safe, but I feel like an alien.
