I'm Irish and have heard this song sung so many times but no one can put the emotion and feeling into this song that Eva can. She is so missed.

I am Chinese Canadian, grew up in Hong Kong, never been to Ireland. Music like this beautifully written and touching song transcends cultural boundary. The angelic voice of Eva Cassidy touches the heart and soul. Thank you for sharing.

We lost Eva way too early. She truly had the voice of an angel.

If God had sent an angel to Earth to sing this is it.

I am not Irish, but I always loved this song, and Eva sings it so beautifully. This song transcends all nationalities. We lost her too soon.

No one else compares. I played lead guitar behind dozens of incredible singers, but none of them had 10% of Eva's gift. Not only did she have a gorgeous voice, she had textures and colors that we've never heard from anyone else, ever. On top of that, she was an absolute genius at arranging music around her unique ability to vary the emotional intensity like no one we've ever heard. The dynamics on display are simply unparalleled in all of human history. Eva Cassidy is the greatest, most complete singer who ever lived.

It is an incredibly rare gift for a singer to take a song we've heard sung by so many others for so many years, and sing it as if we'd never heard it before--to take those same words and music and reach down inside of us and touch our very souls. Eva Cassidy did that with this and so many other songs. She was incredibly rare; her talent a gift from God.

A voice like hers comes once in a century. I'm crying because I'm a real man. She should be on stage tonight.

P.S. Eva's voice and delivery is so exquisite, I think many overlook her SUPERB guitar work, incredible in itself.

This was played at my nephew Danny's funeral, and I still tear up when I hear this. RIP Danny Barhorst, also Eva Cassidy.

Danny Boy

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the flowers dying
'Tis you, 'tis you must go, and I must bide

But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so

But when ye come, and all the roses falling
And I am dead, as dead I well may be
Go out and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me

And I will hear, tho' soft your tread above me
And then my grave will warm and sweeter be
For you shall bend and tell me that you love me
And I will sleep in peace until you come to me
