Daz, I'm so glad I introduced you to Eva months ago. You have embraced her as I knew you would. Your comments about the video and lyric videos I should clarify. Before her death in 1996, there were very few videos of her ever captured. The main ones were the dozen or so black and white videos taken at the Blues Alley Lounge 11 months before she died. There are very few videos other than those. However, she had put out a couple of albums prior, and these color photos represent songs from those albums.
Anything Eva sings is golden but one song to consider is People Get Ready. It is unlike the ballads you've heard from her, and she stated It was her favorite song to perform. It is upbeat and jazzy and shows you a different side of Eva if you haven't seen it.

This was written in 1910, and sung by a multitude of singers. The writer was English lawyer Frederic Weatherly but has become a traditional Irish ballad.

I agree "People get Ready" is spectacular. Yes, that is a new cd pictured. I have it, is of the London Symphony recorded using Eva Cassidys original versons. I prefer her by herself as the symphony does obscure some of the purity of her reeditions. Autumn Leaves is one of my favorites.

A lot of people have sung Danny boy since the song was fully completed back in 1910. It's a combination of an old Irish folk melody played on the fiddle since the mid 1800's, which was transcribed to paper back then, and later given lyrics by a British lawyer in 1910. Since then it has been a well-regarded and well-used Irish ballad that is sung at weddings, funerals, and other celebrations, as well as at pubs, sporting events and such.
