The plumbing codes in most of this video can be found in the Uniform Plumbing Code Book. Others can be found in International Plumbing or Residential Building Code Books and this seems to be creating more issues that I will address in future videos.

Yes, the diagrams and explanations are making sense, thank you!

Great video! for example 7, if you didn't have the air vent and you had to install an AAV, where would you add the AAV? On the toilet pipe or the shower pipe? Or both

Can you make a plan that I can submit to my town to get a permit to build a small bath in my garage that already has a concrete floor? I have obtained and passed the permit that ran the 4" drain from the septic tank(in use from house, garage is detatached) pex 3/4 water line is already ran and tested. I have a opening in the corner of the garage floor that I used to bring in the waterline and drain line. Opening is only about 18" x 24" it was very difficult to break up as my supposed to be 4" slab started at this location is 7" thick to provide a slope in the floor.

First off A GREAT thank you! for these videos. after awhile it finally clicked what you where describing.
6:15 you're wording of "upper section" was hard to understand/grasp. should make it more clear you where trying to illustrate that the liquids flow in the bottom half and vent air in the "upper half" though it's just one pipe. (and that the change made at 6:18 was because drained liquids would have consumed the entirety of the pipe which most of us assumed happens anyway)

I have a question. With the sanitary tee at 2:40, I was told that this tee needs to be at a 45 to allow it to vent properly. Is this true? and if so, why?

I'm trying to wet vent a lavatory from a dry vent used by the shower and am not sure how long the vertical+ horizontal distances can be because the trap for the lavatory is above the floor. It's hard to locate examples online as most use the dry vent from the lavatory to vent the shower, but not the reverse. Is this possible? What are the maximum distances?

All fittings below the flood rim of the highest fixture must be drainage long sweep fittings

some jurisdictions dont allow for a double wye to be used horizontally

Using a tee or san-tee, can I tie a new sink drain into an existing bath tub overflow drain tube. The new sink has a pea trap and is vented via a studor vent.

A horizontal dry vent off any fixture is not gonna fly. OSPC says it must be 6 in above the flood rim of the hight fixture before it can change directions.

2:34 Why would you ever need to snake your vent? I mean maybe you get it unclogged and the clog travels down the vent pipe?

why didn't you just put the lavy drain closer to the toilet/shower to wet vent the bathroom group and run an arm for the lavy? The shower does not need it's own vent.

Last example with flat vent is clear violation which you have been explained & shown code sections but still advocate. You said you didn't understand the problem. The reason from the code's perspective is that downstream clogs back up and permanently clog or impair dry flat vents. If you don't agree with the code, I don't know if you should keep telling people to vent in a manner that would get them flagged at inspection

@ 4 minutes.
Is about my only option

The only time a vent can go horizontal is if it's in a joyce Bay and there is no other option. You will have to be there with the inspector to look at it otherwise he will fail it

I really don't understand why you are putting the vent 16 inches in front of the toilet and also in front of the shower. What's going on?

So question? So is a vent need for a face bowl

You cannot go from vertical to horizontal Is below the flood rim of the highest fixture. Must be a minimum of 6 inches above the flood rim

Verbal explanation ok, but inadequate accompanying diagram starting at example 7, 9:32.
