Coplanar means they exist on the same plane. Jointer tables should not be coplanar. They should be parallel on the horizontal planes.

Good accuracy but 50 bucks... No offence but it's amazing what's on offer in the hobby sector, and how commission-funded channels advertise it. When I was working as a carpenter, we used wooden straightedges that we had to dress ourselves. An aluminum construction profile can also do the job. And you can use its T-slots universally, e.g. for clamps, for stop blocks, as a guide.
