Ah yes. The great revolt that Jesus tried to lead. Constantly telling his disciples that his purpose here was to die and raise again and that he was there to serve not be served. (Mark 10:45) Then him telling them to “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s” Stays silent when he’s accused and doesn’t ever try to rile up the Jews against Rome but submits to Roman authority, preventing the disciples from fighting against his arrest (Luke 22:47-53)

Jesus was not leading a revolt against Rome. Pilot had nothing against Jesus. Even when asked Jesus said "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's, " which is to say "pay your taxes." Jesus was crucified for his criticism of the corruption of the Jewish leaders who were putting their personal wealth ahead of the needs of their people. Calling out corruption among your own is always more dangerous than attacking the external enemy.

Jesus didn't want to lead a revolt against the Romans. He wanted to change the world through love.
