Do not go on a shopping spree that you cannot afford, relying on a company who will take ages to reimburse you and then might not reimburse the entire amount. This is bad advice.

You don't need 1000$ of clothes and makeup to "tie you over" probably days.

Fining/taking compensation from airlines if they lose your bag is fine but they should not be based on you wanting to have a pile of overprised brand products.

I think buying the shoes from Nike is justifiable, ONLY if you own original Nike shoes that were in your bag which got delayed
