How to use use nested sequences in Premiere Pro.

I apologize for the many flashing frames. They are due to the screen recording software which did not work properly this time around.

Yes. You can treat each sequence as an individual video clip and put any or all of them anywhere on a timeline in any other sequence or sequences.

Not sure what you mean by separating the nested file. Perhaps you want to trim it? At any rate, you can treat it as you would any clip. You can trim it, use the razor tool to cut it, and delete portions of it.

Cool tut, Jeff. Q: Can i eventually place the sequences together on the time-line
to make a final film I can export?

Red line means P Pro probably will have problems playing the sequence back in real time. If you render the sequence, a green line will appear and it will play back smoothly.

Not sure what you mean by "exporting for Encore." There is no reason to export the sequence if you are working in Encore. You can dynamically link to the sequence from within Encore.

What might be happening is that P Pro might not be linking to all the media. Open the sequence in P Pro and make sure all assets are linked.

I use After Effects to compose intros(rendering to MPEG-DVD). I then go to PPro to "join" the intro and video file (sequences) together. When importing the intro file into PPro, everything is fine. I proceed to import the video sequence to join both files. That is when issues arise. I use Encore to author DVDs. I use AE, PPro and Encore as one project. I do this solely to join my custom intro to video files. I want to keep in the "Adobe family", figuring file formats would not be an issue.

At 4:05, I noticed in the timeline there is a red line and yellow line (just under the ruler). when I either nest a sequence or join two video files, that happens to me. When "exporting" for Encore, the video with the red line(for lack of a better term) will not render when exporting is completed? It seems that Premiere is saying that particular clip will not be read. To be sure, the two clips to join are of different formats. Your thoughts. If I am unclear, please let me know.

I'm afraid I don't follow exactly what's going on. I'd need to see all the projects and assets. And that goes beyond the kind of advice I can give here.
