The Cascades is a mountain range in North America. We can understand they're not using it to mean a waterfall because the 'C' used in cascades in capital C. Thus it is a proper noun and is being used to refer to that mountain range. It becomes clearer in the next line "Bumping Lake in the Cascades." If you look it up you will find the Bumping Lake is a part of the Cascades Mountain range.
