• attempts made the author underwater:-
1. He planned that when his legs hit the bottom of the pool, he would jump with all the might he has and come up to the surface like a cork then swim to the edge of the pool
2. On the 1st attempt: when he reached the bottom, he jumped with all his might and when he reached the surface all he saw was water with a dirty yellow colour to it, then his eyes and nose came out but his mouth didn't, he tried moving his legs but they hung as dead. Then he started going down again. His lungs ached, heart beat fastly and he felt dizzy.
3. On the 2nd attempt: he attempted a 2nd time and all he saw was water with a dark yellow glow, then, a terror seized him, terror which had no bound, control, or understanding and could not be understood by people who hadn't experienced it. He was stiff and rigid with fear, he was crying underwater, only the throbbing in his head and his heartbeat could indicate that he was alive.
4. On his 3rd attempt: sense came to him and he remembered his plan, when he felt the tiles at the bottom, he jumped with all his might again, he could only see water, the complete terror took a deeper hold on him. Then, his nose and eyes came out but like the first attempt, his mouth didn't. Then he began going down again, the yellow color started disappearing, he tried gasping for air, but got water instead, his legs fell limp and a blackness swept over his brain, washing away all terror, there was peace and quiet, he knew all of his efforts had seized, as he fell into unconsciousness, curtain of his life also fell with it.
5. Then, he suddenly found himself lying to his stomach, vomiting beside the pool.
