Anybody that comes to this video to see the wiring part all i did was run the ground of each light to the body of the vehicle and ran the power to the purple wire on my trailer wire harness. The purple wire on my trailer harness is the reverse signal light....or if you choose to you can also run a seperate switxh to the cabin area of the vehicle to turn them on manually

I did this same thing to my truck a few years ago. Works great and really lights it up behind you. I suggest taping off the bumper and using rust-o-leum spray paint on newly exposed metal. After about a year I had rust stains running down my bumper because I didn’t paint it.

Four years later and I found this because this is what I wanted to do- immediately ordered off Amazon (coincidently 4$ more that what I see in your four year old video)...Thank you for this!

Now you need two more mounted more towards the outside of the rear bumper. Thanks for making this video!

You skipped the wiring part the only part I came to see lol

I’m planning on doing roughly the same deal but I’m mounting where I already have a ding in the bumper. Cheaper than a new bumper and functional! If you are ever backing up a trailer at night you want these on a separate switch than your reverse lights...

I just ordered this lights to install in my Ford E-350 van, I'll connect them to the reverse lights.Thank you for the video!

I did the same thing, but used a jig saw to cut out the holes. Faster and didn't leave those grind marks in the corners that show. :)

If you eventually use a switch instead, use a 3 way toggle. Wire one to the reverse lights and one to constant power.

Ya. I’m waiting on mine from eBay. Doing the same thing on my Yukon. Can’t see shit backing up. Lol. I’ve damn near sideswiped my neighbors car at night backing up. Jeeesh. My lights are in New Mexico today. Cool video. Thanks 😊!!!

I'll back these lights as being a good bang for their buck. Have had the same lights mounted in my rear bumper for almost 1.5 years. Still as bright as day one. Tied in to my reverse wire and a switch to a couple diodes, then to a relay, allowing me to independently switch on/off without triggering my reverse lights. If I need to use them as "Fuck you" lights to them tailgaters, or hook up my trailer in the dark, I don't need to be in reverse to do so. Few extra bucks for the electrical parts, but they are worth it.

Next time start by drilling a half inch hole in each of the corners before you cut the openings. Makes it much easier.

just installed these on my 01 ram plow truck..not bad for 25$...before cutting up your bumper do the wiring first to make sure they work.i used heat shrink bullet type connectors...

Great video. I have a 08 Ram and all of us know how the Rams have awful reverse lighting on older models. Been thinking about doing this for a while now. Probably will now. Thanks again.

You might want to take just some normal red paint and paint the cut so it doesn't start to rust

i didnt realize how simple it was to do this!! im going to order a set now lol

FYI you can turn the key on without starting the truck and be able to put it in reverse without having to worry about the chalks keeping it from taking off backwards.

Any time you cut, bumper/body panels, paint the cut metal to try to keep bumper from a rust starting point. (Pro tip)
