How to win a fight using OODA Loops. This military strategy was invented by John Boyd and is regarded as the best way to win any conflict. OODA stands for O (observe) O (orient) D (decide) A (act). OODA loops are used in everything from Basketball to Business and even in the Brexit referendum. Prof Simon investigates with the help of Alexander Ondrick (Threat Intelligence - @Secure_Obscure).

I definitely have heard about this from business school and professional students that use it daily. The first pilot to detect an enemy in their radar and launch a missile is usually the one to win the fight. Observe, orient, decide, & act must happen before the other person reacts too quickly by not correctly observing, orienting, deciding, and reacting. Usually, a reaction is the wrong action but in a certain small percentage of the time the opponent chooses correctly and nails you. In other instances your opponent has already predicted your reaction and already has a counter measure in place. Soviet pilots may want to cause a stealth fighter to open is missile bay doors so that the plane is no longer stealthy or sit at a low altitude with an infrared receiver so that your warm stealth fighter is against the cold background of space, and etc. In this case he is one OODA loop ahead of you without you knowing it. Some politicians may have already anticipated their defeat in order to secure future victories. Causing the other party to win the battle but loose the war.

It's not how you use it, but why you use it. If you have a terminally crappy plan like Brexit, well yeah. That's a fail.

Brexit was won because relentless scaremongering annoys the majority, as did increasingly misrepresentative governments.. Remoaners were also zealous, unwilling to compromise on any issues, obviously border control and international freedom of movement being the main issue.. The words 'Brexit', 'Brexiteer' and 'Remoaners' also played a significant psychological role, perhaps even tipping the balance. It was a war of words and idea. Remoaners insults were lame, their policies were ANTINATIONAL.. People died to protect UK democracy, don't you know!
