In this Demo:
The demo is done in visual studio 2013 but works almost exactly the same in latest version visual studio in 2022
Create a Basic Console Application
Accept input from the user
Wrtie output to the Console
Use the WriteLine, ReadLine and ReadKey methods of the Console Class

Make sure to select C# as the language, Windows as the platform and Console as the App Type

If you are not seeing the Console Application Template in Visual Studio Express see my blog post at the link below for details on how to resolve. It is most likely due to your Visual Studio "Platform"

Sir, Thanks for the wonderful tutorial, before this I don't know how to create a console application, since the default one is Windows Form Application. :)

Thanks for the video; however, just as some feedback, that introductory whirring and beeping in the background while trying to read inhibits me (and, therefore, maybe others) from digesting what is being displayed to the screen.

There's no 'Console Application' on the list, it shows only "Store Apps". On the "Online" It shows: Other, Silverlight, Visual Studio Extensions, WCF, Windows Forms, Windows Phone and WPF.

How do you open a console application on the latest update of MVS13?

You can use command line parameters when you are the app from a script... I will post a quick demo of how to do in a console app although the process is largely the same in a windows app...
