The first place to look when wanting to know about the eating habits of early believers, go to Leviticus 11. This chapter lays out those things that God considers food. Hint, if it is deemed unclean it is not food by Gods perspective. Additionally, you have to understand that food then was much more nutritious than food today. Our food today has been watered down, GMO'd, processed, homogenized, filtered, and lab grown to death and isn't nearly as good for you as it once was.

Is this really bread? Full grain fresh mill bread is not the same as powdered flour without all its fiber and germ etc.

Jesus would have never eaten a tomato, squash, or potato. Those foods wouldn't show up for 1500 years.

The thing is most foods today aren't the same. Bread is processed flour and not healthy today.

Just an observation. The Jews did use yeast for their bread except during certain holidays.

The flour in Jesus day contained many more nutrients than our modern flour. Food for thought...

The ancient Levant did not have tomatoes or squashes. Might want to research pre-Columbian Exchange foods available in the Near East.

Actually a first Israeli diet would be one that is alongside one of the most nutritious diets still know- they (middle eastern) diets have the lowest rates of heart attacks and cardio vascular diseases. The majority of their protein was actually a combination of grains (lentils) and even quinoa. Also, the calories were much lower than the standard American three meals a day. That is too much food
