Regarding the spool / filament issues - you are not using the tubes that feed the filament thru that small gap in the back of the printer top - that keeps tension on the filament on the spool side and prevents any issues with the filament looping on itself.

Regarding the stringing, I had to increase my retraction to 3mm @ 30mm/s to get rid of stringing entirely

I recently purchased an X-Plus - the smaller unit to the X-Max - I have transitioned ALL of my customer printing over to that printer because the layer quality and speed are far superior to my bed-slinging printers in the farm. Qidi support is phenomenal as well. I was having stringing / quality issues and I sent them my STL, pics and profiles. Within four hours they sent over their own profile with some tweaks for me to try - and they worked flawlessly.

I have been using this machine for a while. Mine had some issues but the company is very good to deal with and helped me fix them. The filament feeding is a big problem when printing full size models. I am going to try the internal position

Great Review, been using the Qidi X-Max for so long and I can't complain, but your soo right in regards to the filament getting stuck however this is usually based on the filament and how it is winded...or you can place it through the filament feeder which I can't be asked to do. Plus you can also flip the magnetic build plate over, I prefer this finish!! If you want to see some Qidi X-MAX Time-lapses I have 100's... Feel free to check it out!!! Keep up the great content!

I had my Qidi X-Max printer for about 4 months now. Not all models works, the one that works on the first print are purchased stl files, others need to experiment. I like the large printer volume and mult-filment compatibilities, like wood pla.

How did you print the Black Panther helmet like that without losing quality and details on the top? My supports always fuse with the print.

Nice review! For ABS prints you must use the back of the magnetic bed. There is a black and smooth side. There also should be a glue pen that helps to stick the first layer to the magnetic bed.

Mine/all of these printers come with slide on friction fit clamps/locks to prevent the spool holder from sliding and filament getting caught up. Also one of your first prints should be the top enclosure cover to reduce the slot that allows the air to be removed from the enclosure. Search thingiverse for qidi x-max and it should be the most popular one. Sa da tay, runny time on the Willy fan.
