what if i put in a video into adobe premiere but it doesn't separate the audio track from the video so i don't have an audio track on my workspace just the video but it has the audio on it

How would you separate the audio channels? Like the background noise and the person speaking in the mic? For final cut X you had to change it to duel mono then close the second channel. How would you do it in Adobe? @
