2024 Olympic Triathlon delayed for pollution in Seine River in Paris

It's easy for the mayor of Paris to take a short dip in the Seine before 85 river boats that brought all the athletes to the opening of the games. Is it worth risking your health for a 15 min swim in a polluted river. The river has been polluted for more than 100 years and there are still boats travelling on it stirring up chemicals and human waste.

It's Paris. It's the Seine. Hundreds of years worth of "human stuff" flowing into, and still flowing into, the Seine. The IOC, Paris, France, and most countries knew this this and still want to endanger athletes' lives. Skip the swim and just let them run that portion instead, or speed walk it.

I’d be pissed. Working this hard for years to not being able to do the competition because of dirty water? Paris should’ve done better with a backup plan

Absurd making a triathlon a biathlon makes for it being a meaningless event, as a retired triathlete(never really retire) it is hard for others to appreciate the sacrifice, effort & dedication needed to be competitive, at the very least they should have a pool/s for a backup!!
