Im 22 i live in nyc and do yoga and cycling regularly. I see people walking the streets with alo, and in cycling studios i see an array of brands including alo and lulu, but in the yoga studios the vast majority wears lululemon. I myself have no desire to switch to alo, and i think a lot of middle class to wealthy gen z and millennials are going to stay loyal to lulu. I think while affiliate marketing is going to get bigger and is driving alo, there is a simultaneous push to distance oneself from the chronic onlineness of influencer marketing driven brands because there is an inauthenticity there that people who truly care about wellness and health arent interested in. Lululemon has always been for the health conscious person, and alo seems to be for more of the trend followers and people who wear workout garb as everyday wear as a fashion statement. I think with gen alpha and their early online presence they will be the main purchasers and drivers of alo’s success in the next 10 years. From my observations on the streets of nyc that’s my personal opinion and synopsis.

I spent about $80 on a long sleeve top from Alo once because of it’s style but after one wash it balled up. Never purchased from them again. I am certainly a Lulu girl

I went to Alo cause I’m looking for a sweater hoodie, I ended up buying one from Lulu. I prefer their design, quality and feel of the fabric. All my gym clothes are from Lulu but maybe one day I’ll try Alo if I see anything that I really really like.

Brilliant video but please invest in a pop-filter or speak indirectly into the microphone because the pops when you speak are quite distracting.

Originally want to get a lulu yoga mat 2 weeks ago, however when I went into the store. The store was i
a mess, no one is tidying up the stock; it’s like a big sale shop. At the visit, I missed the price tag on the Yoga mat, tried to ask the staff and their staff was looks like ‘are you serious ? Why you are so dump ? ‘ attitude. So I left .
.
With the poor experience, I went to Alo. Treated well by Alo staff, shop present nice and elegant. Yoga mat is 20CAD more than lulu, but I brought that one immediately. After using, quality was good, no complains. Will go with Alo after that poor experience

I will never support any brand that the KarJenners wear. Their own shit isn't even worth the money

Lululemon is still the number 1 for me. Alo is more lounge wear . It’s not sport serious. And I hate their logo. It looks phallic .

Lulu is better quality than Alo... and Alo is trendy and chic esp appealing for the younger generations, but performance and practicality wise Lulu wins and more matured crowd prefers Lulu esp for the more reserve but still sleek and chic style. And Alo is overpriced. Lulu price more reasonable comparatively and esp for the quality and performance. Just one example would be their tennis skirts, the price difference is.... and Lulu's is more well made in quality and functionality ....and there are other products too.

There's just no comparison to Lulu when it comes to athleisure. The quality and style are absolutely perfect! I’m not a fan of Alo; their yoga pants just don't fit as well as Lulu's do. I've tried so many different athleisure brands over the years and after trying them all, I’ve promised myself to stick with Lulu.

I don’t think alo will stand the test of time the way lulu has. I know women who have been buying lulu for over 20 years (I myself have shopped there for over a decade), I don’t think Alo has a brand identity like lulu that can withstand the test of time and the shopping experience in the store is unsatisfactory. I can imagine Alo’s current target audience will age out of the hype and look for something more.

It's stupid to compare it with Tesla even as a metaphor. Alo has no first mover advantage as Tesla has. No supply chain competitive advantage.
