Is Diablo IV Worth $70 for an average player?

As a dad without a ton of expendable income, this was super helpful. I have friends who play, but an amount I'd never be able to keep up with. The fact that we can still play together was absolutely a deciding factor.

Very well done. Enjoying the D4 content. I've primarily been an FPS player and never been that good at ARPGs (played all of the other diablos for the story) but with your help I really have been grinding D4 and enjoying the build process.

I love it. I play an hour or so a night, and get a few upgrade drops every time I progress which feels nice, and it allows me to focus in on the story and side missions as well. Feels rewarding instead of crushing through content like I do on Destiny 2

I agree with everything you said. I am one of the people who was worried I wouldn't have "enough time" to enjoy the game. After watching the early release game play I decided to jump in. I play for maybe an hour or two per day if I'm lucky, & I am enjoying the solo play through a ton.

I would encourage everyone to get into the lore of Diablo. It is by far the best in my opinion. This campaign story in D4 was just perfect. Great review as always!

Never played any of the Diablo games, or anything similar really. I can’t put it down. The story is great, the cinematics, the side quests, all of it. The hardest part is understanding how everything works and what I should be doing. Aside from my lack of experience the game is phenomenal.

This was great. Thoughtful and definitely directed at folks in my demographic who only have a few hours here and there. I'm level 20 and watching this definitely affirmed how I've felt so far.

Really liked you branching out into the commentary space. Not sure I loved the subtitle placement at the top of the video at all times, but the content and narration was good.

I'm an older guy, I played my first rpgs on a Tandy PC. I play pretty much for the story and to beat the game. I play single player, I don't hang around much to do endgame stuff like what it seems the playerbase for PoE likes. I will however replay a game in different classes to experience the different mechanics if they are enjoyable. I only play a few hours every weekend, maybe steal one or two on an occasional weeknight after work. I'm the type that actually liked Diablo 3 lol. I just beat 4 last weekend (took awhile). I rather enjoy it. Qorth the price of the game for me. I don't have to play a game forever. I haven't ever paid one penny for any DLC other than story expansions on any game ever. Now I can move onto Starfield or the Cyberpunk expansion when they come out. I'll replay Diablo a bit as a different class in the meantime.

Fantastic review! I don't play many games solo so being able to grind this out with friends regardless of how much time each one of us can play each night has been very welcome and you nailed that aspect of the review! Will absolutely recommend this review to any of my friends who are on the fence about purchasing and playing D4.

Update: thanks for the comments and likes everyone, I ended up getting the game then the game went to absolute shit, there's no point in playing anything other than druid or Necro, gg don't buy unless you like repetitive gameplay and constantly having your character get nerfed

not really worth it unless you willing to spend hundred of hours on it in 12 weeks per season. the grind never end and if you dont have fun at the beginning, you're not gonna have fun at all... kinda wish it's more like diablo 3 where you spend 5 - 6 hours to get max lvl and just play it casually

This was a very helpful and informative video that answered so many of my questions, thank you for reviewing the game from a lens that makes sense for someone who loves playing video games but just isn't living that streamer/fulltime gamer lifestyle. Thanks for the honest review. I've been back and forth thinking if I want to play it or not. $70 would be steep for a game that I won't play if I get bored lol. I also have never played Diablo so, I couldn't make the decision yet to jump in both feet or not. Though, I do enjoy watching your gameplay so far. Thanks for what you do Lupo.
